This two-day learning session is designed to cover the essential
skills required for healthcare professionals new to leadership
positions. This program gives your people the communication
skills, confidence and practice to build better Leadership
communication skills.
Learning Modules
Respond to Individual Team Members using our Hollywood
Profile System:
If you have ever wondered about the day-to-day application of
personality profiling like Myers Briggs, Keirsey Temperament
Sorter or DISC, Our Hollywood Profile
helps to put a practical application on these valuable
psychometrics tools. By understanding, each of the four profiles (Star, Director,
Producer, Agent), you will be able to maximize the effectiveness
of your team by understanding the strengths and weakness of each
of these profiles. You will learn specific psychological
triggers that speed up communications and find out the natural
work pattern of each profile.
Understand Conflict Resolution
- Conflict is always part of a dynamic work environment. How
conflict is managed will set a tone for your work team. Your
response to conflict and how you ultimately resolve it is based
on your experiential learning with conflict resolution
methodologies. Resolution is about finding out what is best for
the team and moving the decision-making process ahead using
consensus as a foundation.
How to Use a Positive Feedback Model to Help Your Team
Members Become More Self- Directed: This segment is designed to take the pressure off of the leader
and place dual responsibility on both the leader and the team
member for work evaluation and the self-improvement process.
Based on pre-determined work behaviors, leaders are leading the
way by eliminating the traditional hierarchical structure of job
evaluation.
This empowering process will speed up evaluation time and allow
team members to focus on making achievable improvements in their
work by a dedication to constant and consistent progress.
Recognize and Effectively Use Different Leadership Styles:
Once you have determined your leadership style by completing the
Hollywood Profile System, you will discover that in most cases
you are effectively communicating with normally 25% to 50% of
your team members. That leaves nearly half of your team in
conflict with your leadership style. This will also assist you
in working with your team and other team leaders within your
organization. You will be able to select the proper approach
that will increase your likelihood of getting the results you
need in your job function.
How to Help Communicate Goals and Expectations to Others:
You will learn situational scripting that will allow you to
communicate both goals and expectations to your team in such a
way to expedite “buy in”. Along with the scripting, you will
also learn our unambiguous word method.
Managing in a Multiple Priority Environment:
Productive leaders know the difference between juggling tasks
and the skill of truly balancing priorities within a busy
workday. This module helps you make active informed decisions
about what to do and when to do it. Increased productivity and
stress reduction are the foundations. You will learn the art of
delegation within the framework of a team management model.
Communicating with Team Members by Showing Empathy:
This module is an extension of Communicating goals and
expectations, you will learn additional scripting of how to
properly express empathy so that you avoid being a central point
of all conflicts. You will learn our “Universal Truths” method
that helps to neutralize potential emotional situations and move
your team ahead.
Creating Problem Solving Methods that are Staff Focused:
Working within a team environment becomes a challenge for most
North American organizations because of our tendency to keep
problem solving as the strict domain of management personnel.
You will learn how to guide your team to dual responsibility for
team problem solving so that suggestions for workplace
improvements come from the whole team. Part of this segment is
how to understand and use the concept of consensus decision
making.
Role plays, the SBP Way
Like all of our programs, participants will have lots of
opportunities to experience our “S.T.O.P.” action role-plays to
further practice and solidify their new skill sets. Our stop
action role-plays are specifically designed to make all
participants comfortable with their new skills. They are done
segment by segment in a non-threatening way so that any learning
corrections are made in the safety of the training room. The
content for role-plays and scenarios will be based on day-to-day
operations within your Health Care Facility.
